Quando um determinada árvore chamada Agar, que tem origem na Índia e sudeste asiático, sofre uma espécie de infecção, reage produzindo uma resina preciosa escura e perfumada, conhecida como Oud (“oudh” em árabe) que é altamente valorizada pelos perfumistas por seu aroma doce, amadeirado e complexo. Devido à sua raridade e da dificuldade obtenção é o óleo mais caro do mundo sendo referido como “ouro líquido”.
